IT'S A DOG'S LIFE...

Today we took Hershey and Bini to the DOG PARK. They loved every single second of it. And boy can Hershey run. She is fast like a thoroughbred. In fact, she runs just like a race horse. She was keen on catching a squirrel or 2. She did not, but it would have made her happy...even if just for a split second before they tore her up. They boys got to pet EGAN, the 9 month old 100 pound Newfoundland dog that was there. He gave Hershey a sniff or 2 but didn't really care about them. We brought home 2 tired puppies and then Neil had to take the boys to a real park. Zach said, "Park, pleeeeease!"

35 degrees last night...swimming today

Last night is was a cold and windy 35 degrees. Today my oldest son and his father have gone swimming. Yes, it is at an indoor pool, but, nonetheless, it is going to be cold coming out of there. I suggested they take a change of clothes for Jake...we'll see if that happened. Jake has been DYING to go swimming for about a month now. He just doesn't understand why he can't swim (we tell him it's too cold) if he's outside running around in shorts. Yes, Jake, Texas weather is confusing. Anyway, he got a new "swim shirt" this weekend from Abby. So he was bound and determined to go swimming. I'll keep you posted as to whether this was fun enough to do it again before summer really gets here.

Isn't this how YOU color?

Zach's favorite...AND I MEAN FAVORITE...thing to do is color. Just ask anyone who has been around him for more than 20 minutes in the last month or 6 weeks. It is almost weird how much that kiddo likes to draw. There have only been a few instances of coloring on the walls. And I have been very fortunate to have the foresight to NOT let him go to bed with the colors. He likes to go to bed with a toy. Any who...he will periodically get so "into" his coloring that he doesn't realize what he is doing. The picture shows him propped up on the coffee table, lying flat, so he could get a better angle at the coloring book. Very cute I might add. His favorite things for Neil or me to draw him are:
  1. Chooches
  2. house
  3. bug
  4. Jake
  5. Daddy
  6. church
  7. car
  8. park
  9. dog
  10. cow
  11. frog

Super Hereos Sighted in Katy

Jake's favorite (or close to it) thing to do is dress up in costumes. Super hero costumes are the best, but any costumes will do. A good friend of mine, Lynda, just gave us 3 or 4 more that her boys had outgrown. Well, that is the best thing since sliced bread over here. As you can see...Jake, Zach and Jake's best buddy Max all love the costumes.
